Uche Sparks Dominant Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, especially after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Moment
This occasion offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved no match against a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A slick passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the official waved away the protests.
The formerArsenal man did not have wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.
Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a header from a corner.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
