The Blue Jays Secure World Series Meeting Versus the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Astros securing the World Series in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays reached their initial championship series since 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the seventh Game 7 of the ALCS.

Trailing 3-1, outfielder George Springer delivered a three-run blast in the seventh, propelling the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 win in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, the team that is the current crown, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.

"It's incredible for this squad, the city, the nation," said Springer, a key player of the Houston Astros team that claimed the 2017 title. "This is such an unbelievable moment."

Springer has now connected for 23 post-season home runs, ranking him third in history trailing only Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another person in the world that I'd choose in that situation other than him with his playoff prowess," said Schneider.

Seattle's team, after leading the series two games to none and three games to two, continue to be the one club never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson said "there's no question that it's painful" following his team's loss at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but commended their efforts this season.

"It's a special team. It's a shame that we had to come out on the wrong side of this game," he remarked.

The Blue Jays claimed the title on their two prior appearances in 1992 and 1993, and are set to host the Los Angeles in the first game on this Friday.
