Preview the Revamped Legendary Adventure: A Complimentary Trial for DQ7 Reimagined Lands Soon.
Players looking forward to the release of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait the full month. An highly anticipated trial experience will go live on the seventh of January, offering a substantial glimpse into the game's initial chapters. Critically, all advancement made within this demo is eligible to be imported directly into the complete game upon its subsequent release.
More Than a Simple Re-release: The Complete Reimagining
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined is a ground-up reinterpretation of the seminal year 2000 role-playing game, originally released as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a significant step away from other Dragon Quest remakes, such as the recently released HD-2D iterations, this version adopts a charming 3D aesthetic. Locales are designed to resemble detailed model sets, with characters featuring a whimsical stylized appearance.
"Considering the previous remake, the main quest was still notoriously extended. So we came to a conclusion that we wanted to streamline the story, [and] craft an adventure for today's players."
Significant Gameplay Enhancements & Modernizations
Square Enix have added several modernizations to refresh the original experience. This encompasses:
- Expedited Overworld Battles: Similar to modern RPGs, low-level enemies can now be defeated directly on the overworld map eliminating the need for entering a separate turn-based battle screen.
- Adjustable Battle Pace: Gamers have the option to speed up combat animations to rapidly get past less challenging encounters.
- New Vocation System: One completely new job class has been created for this reimagining. Additionally, characters gain the option to take on a second vocation, greatly expanding strategic depth.
Such refinements are aimed at address a key the original game's common points of feedback: its immense scope. The original storyline was known to require more than 100 hours to complete. The reimagined version has been expressly reworked to refine pacing and reduce perceived bloat.
